COVENTRY Schools Under-12 side did a "Coventry City" today. In a Warwickshire Cup match against Birmingham Under-12s in Birmingham, they were 2-0 down at half-time before hitting back to win 3-2.

"It was just like the Sky Blues against West Ham," said a spokeman for the team. Fadi Hanna scored two goals, and Gary Baker the other.

Coventry Schools gained two cup wins over traditional rivals Leicester today.

The Under-14 squad, unbeaten so far, extended their record with a 3-2 Longford Fire Brigade Trophy success and the Under-15 team eased home 2-1 with two goals from Mark Rosegreen.

Pete Gandy, Gareth Evans and Daren Reilly shared the goals that won the Under-14 game and in the Bronson-Castele Trophy final, Rosegreen was Coventry's hero with the deciding goal coming in the final seconds.

COVENTRY Schools soccer sides served up goal-packed performances in a clean sweep against Lincoln at Bishop Ullathorne today.

The Under-13s set the trend with a thrilling 4-3 victory in their friendly, Sean Cassidy netting two goals, and Gary Cross and Derek Duggan completing their score.

The biggest win of the block fixture came from the Under-14s — maintaining their impressive unbeaten run — via a 7-1 scoreline. Two goals apiece for Darren Reilley and Peter Shearer were added to by Gareth Evans, Simon Wilkinson and Rohan Leith.

But the most remarkable scoring feat came from the Under-15's Mark Rosegreen. He crashed home four goals, and with a Lincoln defender adding an own goal, saw his side run out 5-2 winners.

COVENTRY Under-19s progressed to the final of the West Midlands Cup by defeating Halesowen and Stourbridge 3-2 after extra time.

Coventry defended well against a strong wind with Sean Crowley (Radford Newman) and Kevin Kelly (The Hill College) in commanding form.
