England call-up for Rosegreen

England call-up for Rosegreen
MARK ROSEGREEN, the talented Coventry striker, has been selected for the England Under-18s.
FOOTBALL
The Barrs Hill School student has been included in the 16-strong squad following the National Coaching Course at Lilleshall.
Rosegreen travelled down to Stafford for trials at the First Division club after shining in
an FA Youth Cup game at The Dell for his club side, AP Leamington.
The England programme has a home game at Swindon v Scotland, an away trip to Wales and a tour of Switzerland.
Squad preparations start next week at Lilleshall. The last Coventry schoolboy to represent his country was
John Lee from Ernesford Grange School two years ago. TWO early goals in an impressive start enabled Coventry Under-18s to reach the Warwickshire Cup final at the first National [unclear] round.
Woodall's Paul Shropstone netted with a spectacular volley taken by Safta Nelson. Tommy Gibbons (Finham Park), the latter scoring for the sixth time this season.
Greg Jarvis (Cardinal Newman) made crucial saves
to thwart Solihull's fightback and stubborn defence was a feature of this season's best all-round team performance.
Coventry's perseverance did not arrive until the last minute, too late to prevent the embarrassing officials for their final place at home to Albion and South Leicestershire next month.
The Under-13s squad travels to Oxford with the Under-14s and Under-15s on
Saturday to play friendly matches. The Under-12s team will be eager to reverse the score of an earlier encounter...
Oxford have progressed to the final of the English Schools Gillette Trophy.
For the Under-14 side it is a vital month given the end of season lay-off, and players will be keen to impress with the semi-finals of the Kings Trophy in the Warwickshire Cup taking place next Saturday.

LOOKING every inch the part, Barrs Hill striker Mark Rosegreen proudly shows off his international blazer after being selected for England under-18 schoolboys. Rosegreen has been called up for matches against Scotland and Wales plus a tour of Switzerland. He's also alerted the attention of a flurry of League club scouts and has just spent the week with Southampton after being spotted during AP Leamington's extended FA Youth Cup run. Rosegreen is the first Coventry schoolboy to play for England since John Lee from Ernesford Grange two years ago.

COVENTRY schoolboy star Mark Rosegreen hopes to catch the eye of national selectors this weekend.
The Barr's Hill striker is one of only two West Midland area players invited to attend England under-18 trials at Lilleshall.
Mark is a key member of AP Leamington's youth team and has caught the eye of Lawrie McMenemy.
And the Saints boss has invited the talented goal-getter for trials this summer after seeing him in action for AP in an FA Youth Cup match at the Dell.
